Color Me Mine Princeton Mixed Media Multi-Project Kits will help kids enhance their artistic abilities, build confidence, & complete several projects from start to finish. We feel it is important for kids to not only create art but to also learn about the endless options to bring their art to life!
With this mixed-media, multi-project option, participants will receive a kit filled with seven projects (packaged separately) and everything they need to complete them! They will be able to actively create a variety of art projects while learning about Art Theory & History, all in the comfort of their own home. A video will be provided with a demonstration of each art project in the kit (5 videos total), which will be sent to each child to use to complete their projects. In addition, we will hold 4 “meet ups” Tuesday through Friday of the following week so that each participant can ask questions, get help, and show off their artistic creations!! Each participant will complete 7 total projects (some pieces will need to be fired in our kilns and we will arrange with parents to get those pieces processed once they are painted)!
Information about the meet-ups will be emailed with your demonstration videos. PLEASE REMEMBER TO PROVIDE YOUR EMAIL IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE VIDEOS.
PAINT COLORS HAVE BEEN PRE-DETERMINED - NO NEED TO LIST COLORS IN THE NOTES.
Projects 1& 2: Clay Hand-building – Participants will get to hand-build their very own clay creations! Kits will include two balls of clay, a clay tool, two plates, instruction sheet, and a video demonstration. The video will demonstrate making a clay pot and a clay gnome. Kids will need to give their clay pieces two days to completely dry once the project is finished.
Project 3: Pottery Painting Fun! Pottery painting is the bread & butter of Color Me Mine of Princeton and we would love to introduce kids to pottery painting with a fun ceramic Gumball Machine Bank. Kids will learn all about our pottery and we will show them how to use our underglaze paints as well as how the paint interacts with the heat of our kilns to create beautiful colors and shine! We will also have a virtual tour of our kiln room along with a full demonstration of how to successfully paint the gumball machine. The pieces will need to be fired in our kilns and we will arrange pick-up to do so.
Projects 4 & 5: Pottery Painting Techniques! –This kit will include TWO ceramic pieces and kids will get to experiment using tape, paper cut outs, and sponges. Everything needed to make a coordinated plate and mug using some of our favorite techniques will be provided (these pieces would need to be fired in our kilns to be finished and we will arrange pick-up to do so).
Project 6: Canvas Painting – Kids will be guided to create a beach inspired masterpiece using an 11x14 canvas, ceramic pieces, acrylic paint, and glitter glue. Instruction sheets and a video demonstration will be provided.
Project 7: Mosaic – This is a kid favorite! We will use a mosaic surface, small tile pieces, glue, and grout to create a beautiful piece your kids will want to display for years to come!
All supplies will be provided! Fee includes firing of all pottery pieces painted with our under glaze. Fee free to call or email with any questions. 609.581.9500 or firstname.lastname@example.org
